Greater Vancouver Zoo in Aldergrove, BC

24Feb

One of the best family-friendly attractions in Aldergrove, BC is the Greater Vancouver Zoo. The zoo started in the late 1960s with a llama named “Dennis” and grew quickly to house animals of every size and shape, such as Grizzly Bears, Birds of Prey, and Hippos. Drop your stuff off at our hotel and walk or drive the 1km distance to the zoo.

The kids will go dizzy with excitement over the abundance of things to do and see at this Aldergrove attraction. Take them on the Safari Mini Train for a quick narrated tour of the zoo. See a live lion and tiger feeding or visit the wonderful world of reptiles to meet a few of the residents. Don’t leave without a ride on the Wilds Safari Bus that will take you inside the North America Wilds Enclosure- watch bison, elk and wolves roam free, and learn tons of amazing facts about these creatures and their home.

The zoo is dedicated to preserving and protecting endangered species and creating an educational environment that inspires others to appreciate and concern for wildlife and wild places. An expansive and beautiful space, the zoo also offers “Night in the Wild” sleepovers, birthday party packages, and wedding venue options.

Winter hours are currently in effect and the zoo is open daily from 9 am-4 pm until April 30. Admission prices vary and group rates are available.
